Ah, Doug. That book is not extinct. Picked it up at the University of Windsor Library here where I live not too long ago!

I bought and read the book when it first came out. Since then I have misplaced it and have looked and looked for it to no avail! (May have been borrowed and never returned).

I excitedly found an autographed copy at a local Half Price Books not too long ago. Unfortunately I lent it to a friend who was taking a class on technology and never got it back...A major loss, indeed.

How exactly does one go about asking for their book back in a tactful way?

The fact that somebody sold an autographed copy is not a happy thought! I found a personally autographed copy of "Unmasking the New Age" (to Georgine Perino, not to name names--are you out there?) at a used bookstore in Portland once. Ouch.

Oh, Doug, I am mortified to the max that you found that autographed copy that I must have sold when I was totally broke and possibly drunk. I can't imagine why else I would have sold that. You are still one of my favorite authors, even more so now that I'm 8 years sober. Georgine Perino
