Verse, Universe

A verse
in a universe.

A universe
in a verse.

Perverse,
parts of universe.

Reverse the perverse
in part by verse.

Diverse verse,
Universe diverse.

Verse versus universe;
Universe versus verse:

Tension.
Spark.
Flame.

Flame down,
Flame in,
Flame out.

Reborn--
forlorn
no more.

The poem told.
The telling done.

The verses fixed.
The world unjinxed.

Dr. Seuss would be proud.

Dr. Seuss? Is that an insult? Does playing with rhyme mean you are infantile?

Woah, woah, woah!

Dr. Suess was not infantile! That man could spin a rhyme and tell a story with force.

Just because he put pictures with it for the kids does not mean his stories are less forceful.

I mean, common, Green Eggs and Ham is a classic... right up there with Huck Finn in American literature.

Ok... maybe that is a stretch... but its still one of my favorites!

Mr. Groothius,

I appreciate your poem, its reflective nature, and its obvious thoughtfulness.

Thank you for daring to be vulnerable.

And, by the way, Dr. Seuss has nothing on you. I mean that.

It's very well done. I like the rhythm. When I recite it, it reminds me of Verlaine(see:Chanson D'Automne.) The thought is slowly, beautifully unfolding. Not one word missing. Not one word too much. It's superb when we arrive at:

Reborn--
forlorn
no more.

The ending is great because it's final. The work has been done. The goal has been reached:

The verses fixed.
The world unjinxed.

Et voilĂ ! Very enjoyable to read. Thank you. Probably enjoyable to write?
