DVDs and Early Onset Dementia

My wife uttered the following epigram after commenting on the demented and spastic expression on a young child's face, which is featured on the instructional booklet to a DVD player. The child is, of course, looking at a screen.

"These days excitement passes for enjoyment, and
overstimulation passes for excitement."

Becca - yes, you are "on spot." The unfortunate redefining of reality is a challenge for all of us to avoid. Isaiah 5:20 "Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness, who put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter." This should be a great challenge and resolution for our New define reality more consistently as God does. Psalm 36:9 "For with you is the fountain of life; in your light we see light." Thanks for the encouragement!

Wow-- that is quite possibly one of the most illuminating (to use the imagery of the above comment) statements I have heard in a good while. I'll be hanging onto it.
