Danger Then, Danger Now

Listen to Ronald Reagan warning of socialized medicine several decades ago. The last minute should give you chills, because we are now at the moment Reagan feared--the imposition of socialism and the obliteration of the American tradition of liberty.

Reagan always gives me chills. I grew up in his hometown, and actually literally endured subzero weather for hours to see him drive through downtown on his birthday, once. But aside from that--he really did grasp something especially significant about our politics during his anti-Communist "conversion," and carried that Goldwater-with-a-smile, Buckley-from-the-boonies incisiveness and with with him everywhere from then on. Thanks for posting this!
