The Bible and Barack

What the Bible declares:

"Do not give any of your children to be sacrificed to Molech, for you must not profane the name of your God. I am the LORD." (Leviticus 18:21)

"Do this so that innocent blood will not be shed in your land, which the LORD your God is giving you as your inheritance, and so that you will not be guilty of bloodshed." (Deuteronomy 19:10)

"Therefore as surely as I live, declares the Sovereign LORD, I will give you over to bloodshed and it will pursue you. Since you did not hate bloodshed, bloodshed will pursue you." (Ezekiel 35:6)

What Barack Obama said on July 17, 2007 at a speech to the Planned Parenthood Action Fund:

"We know that a woman's right to make a decision about how many children she wants to have and when— without government interference—is one of the most fundamental freedoms we have in this country. . . . I have worked on this issue for decades now. I put Roe at the center of my lesson plan on reproductive freedom when I taught constitutional law. . . So, you know where I stand. . . The first thing I'd do as president is sign the Freedom of Choice Act. That's the first thing that I'd do."

Dr. Groothuis,

Do you believe that these verses also apply to war? capital punishment? If so, what makes a babies life more important then the foreigners? convicts? If we are all children of wrath...

if not, why?

Oh, I get it: in Barak's mind, abortion is an acceptable "birth control" option that women should be allowed to choose from among many other means available that don't involve killing the baby.

I believe it was that same speech in which Obama mocked the Levitical law against eating shrimp. He has shown little patience for nuance or context when it comes to the Bible. Everything else, yes; Bible, no.

We've become so narcissistic in our culture that we forbid ourselves from calling others out on their delusions. In Obama's case, it's the delusion that he is a true Christian.

Abortion is clearly an abomination to God throughout both covenants, and yet it's Barack Obama's modus operandi.

Doug and Friends,

Have you seen this interview with Donald Miller?

Amazingly he is saying that he is voting for Obama, because Obama would reduce abortions and because he is a Christian. This kind of ludicrous thinking masked in Christian speak is what continues to undermine the Christian faith from within. When we embrace this sort of apostacy it eats away from within.

Those who are killed for committing murder are getting what they deserve. See Genesis 9; Romans 13.

Those killed in a just war are not in the same category as innocent embryos killed for "choice."

This is elementary ethics.
