Poetry Reading by Constructive Curmudgeon

Denver Seminary is having an "Open Mic" night from 7-10 PM in the Student Union area Friday, March 10. I will be reading my poem, "Subwoofer" sometime during these three hours. The better reason to attend is the talent to be shown by students and other faculty.

I would like to read this poem to many of my neighbors, but I fear they would not hear me over their booming rudeness.

Here in Boulder my neighbors do not have subwoofers...but they chant...quite annoying.

Give ear to my prayer, O God,
   and hide not yourself from my plea for mercy!
Attend to me, and answer me;
   I am restless in my complaint and I moan,
   because of the noise of the enemy...
(Psalm 55:1-3)

Amen to Psalm 55:1-3 and the biblical literature of lament. I preached a sermon on this at Denver Seminary last term. The MP3 may be available at www.denverseminary.edu under "Student Services."
