Photographic Anomoly
The new ID photo is real. I was there. An ingenious photographer got me to smile: an oddity.
I'm a little shocked your face didn't crack right down the middle, to be honest. The photog must have made a hilarious joke at the expense of postmodernism or something...
Nice photo! I had looked up a picture of you elsewhere, I'm not sure where now...possibly your discontinued blog? I have no current photos of myself to direct you to or send to you. Unlike you, my hair color, mostly gray, does little to convey a youthful image which your picture does marvelously. You have a great smile, I'm glad that you are sharing it with the world!

ReplyDeleteExcellent! This is the Doug Groothuis I know...and love in Christ. 'Tis a becoming photo my friend and shows the light of Christ in you...REALLY!!
ReplyDeleteYes, one time "as a joke" Doug Groothuis smiled. It was a hilarious ironic joke.
ReplyDelete:)
Nice smile!
ReplyDeleteI've seen that smile before. Honestly, your being able to both lament and laugh was one of the highlights of my time in seminary.

ReplyDeleteIt's wonderful that you're not a curmudgeon anymore. Actually I doubt you ever were...:) You have a very positive, "constructive" smile.
