This is from GOPUSA on the Democrat's Party Platform:
Special Rights for Gay Couples: "We support the full inclusion of all families, including same-sex couples, in the life of our nation, and support equal responsibility, benefits, and protections. We will enact a comprehensive bipartisan employment non-discrimination act. We oppose the Defense of Marriage Act and all attempts to use this issue to divide us."
Taxpayer-Funded Abortions: "The Democratic Party strongly and unequivocally supports Roe v. Wade and a woman's right to choose a safe and legal abortion, regardless of ability to pay, and we oppose any and all efforts to weaken or undermine that right." According to the Grand Rapids Press, "The plank in support of abortion rights is even stronger than usual....Gone is the phrase from the past that abortions should be safe, legal and 'rare." (Editorial, Grand Rapids Press, 8/26/08)

Doug,
Given the current content of your blog, I suggest you change its name to "The Enthusiastic Republican."
Tom:
Given the horrible alternative--an egomaniacal, inexperienced, far left, pro-infanticide, Chicago-style politico--I am enthusiastic about the Republican ticket, especially given Gov. Palin's addition to it.
But in politics, I am a principled conservative first and a republican second.
A woman should have access to abortion regardless of her ability to pay? Since when does one's right to abortion trump every other citizen's *inalienable* right to property?
Governmental coercion of funds funneled toward a practice that does not jeopardize a woman's right to life (obviously excluding the rare cases of medically necessary abortions), liberty (a life free of government intervention), or property simply can't be justified. The government ought to stick to its job: maintaing the status quo, infrastructure, and defending the homeland--period.
