Systematic Theology

My good friend, theologian Dr. Alan Myatt, has co-written a major (and huge) systematic theology in Portuguese, which will be published in Brazil. It is called Systematic Theology: an historical, biblical and apologetic analysis for today's context. For those who read this language or know someone who does, please go to the web page. It takes an integrative approach, similar to Integrative Theology by Gordon Lewis and Bruce Demarest.

I only wish I could read it. Perhaps Alan will translate the whole thing just for me...

Having known Alan well for over 20 years, sitting under his teaching and mentoring, I certainly would encourage the reading of his book. We will have to gain up on him for the English translation!

I was priviledge to take one class Alan taught at Denver Seminary in the early '90s. Perhaps one of the best I had and his newly published work makes me want to learn Portugese!
Viva English!

Paul - what class did you have with Alan? Mormonism, Sociology of Religion?

Neither/nor. Had Christianity and Science (a Philosophy of Science) class. We read Moreland's Christianity and the Nature of Science and Kuhn's Structure of Scientific Revolutions, among our journal article readings.

Hey guys! Thanks for the plug, Doug. (check's in the mail, heh, heh).

The real advantage of writing in Portuguese is that I won't have to worry about any of you guys refuting what I have said. Ha.

Well. Maybe someday I'll get some of this into English, though the book is so highly contextualized to the Brazilian situation, a lot of it wouldn't make much sense to the anglo-reader. We are hopeful that the book will be used by the sizable Portuguese speaking community in the States as well. It should also be readable by Spanish speakers.
