Words

Too many words,
too little meaning,
too much muddle.

  1. This brief poem captures a concern frequently on my mind. Your sparing use of words makes it all the more effective. Thank you.

  2. This sentiment reminds me of a chef I used to work for when I was a waiter. Our restaurant consistently received rave reviews, but the fare was surprisingly simple!

The chef would say "It's all about simple things done to perfection. You get the best ingredients available and you expose them in all of their glory without crowding them out by over-spicing, over-flavoring, and over side-dishing them". (or something like that).

Just a perfect and fresh piece of carefully grilled fish with hand-picked garden grown oregano and tomatoes... mmmmmmmmm. No foo-foo colors, no list of 13 ingredients you have never heard of. I miss those dishes.

  4. I'm not into poetry (probably unfortunately) very much, but I like this one. Thanks.
