TV Turn Off Week
TV-Turnoff Week 2006 will take place April 24-30, 2006 - and it's not too soon to get ready! See: http://www.tvturnoff.org. (The link function is not working on this blog right now.)
Thank you so much for having anti-TV "fire in your bones." This was one of life's most valuable lessons that I have learned, and I learned it from you. It's one of those things that we often don't think about until someone like yourself speaks out against it.
TV is a poison. Since you inspired me to reject TV (for the most part anyway) I have found much more valuable ways to spend my time.
Just yesterday I was urging friends to not allow their TV to serve as a babysitter. They were thankful for the message, and in agreement.
Susan: Buy a TV, get addicted to it (like most Americans), then withdraw from it for TV Turn-Off week (unlike most Americans). Just kidding.
Some souls are already cured of the disease. I am reviewing a book called (this is true) "Get More Like Jesus While Watching TV" by Pollard and Couch. Amazingly, the book is not a parody. I can think of a sequel, "Get More Like Jesus While Building the Tower of Babel" or "Get More Like Jesus While Sacrificing Your Children in the Fire." You get the idea...

I'd turn my TV off in a second!
ReplyDelete...if I had one!
